The ribbon cutting ceremony for Mission Linen’s newest facility in Newark, CA is happening today!
The 109,000-square-foot facility is designed to process 1,500,000 pounds of laundry each week and utilizes boiler room equipment provided by Nationwide Boiler Inc. With a silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, the company required equipment that was highly efficient and environmentally friendly.
Nationwide Boiler’s complete, high efficiency boiler room package contains the following equipment:
1. Two (2) Superior 475 hp Steam Boilers, including:
- Integral, factory engineered stack economizer mounts
- Integral, factory engineered seismic anchoring syste
- 4-pass, high-efficiency firetube design
- 150 psi ASME design rating
2. Two (2) Power Flame Burners, including
- Proven, sub 9 ppm, BAAQMD compliant and ultra low NOx
- Siemens LMV52 Servo driven air / fuel ratio control with touchscreen operator interface
- O2 trim
- Variable speed driven combustion blower motors with rotational feedback
- UL, CSD-1, Cal Code and NFPA approvals
3. Two (2) Superior 2-stage Stack Economizers, which
- Provides a 6% efficiency gain and an overall boiler efficiency in excess of 87%
- Incorporates a compact design within a single, easily installed package
- Is supported by integral boiler mounts and installed above the stack
4. One (1) Superior Deaerating feedwater System, which
- Allows for higher feedwater temperatures and increased energy storage
- Removes harmful, non-condensable gases from the boiler feedwater
- Captures condensate return energy while reducing flash steam losses
- Pre-heats boiler feedwater, increasing boiler efficiency and reducing thermal shock
5. One (1) Industrial Steam Surface Blowdown Heat Recovery System, which
- Cools surface blowdown effluent, benefiting underground drain lines and sewer connections
- Improves efficiency by utilizing otherwise wasted energy to heat the soft make-up water
- Recovers otherwise lost flash steam, routing it to the deaerator, reducing pegging steam demand

Nationwide Boiler and Pacific Combustion Engineering have representatives at two tradeshows this week on opposite sides of the country.
In Baltimore, MD, we have Jim Barbeau and Jaime Cubillos representing Nationwide Boiler at the IDEA Annual Campus Energy Show. This event includes 72 presentations, 100 exhibitors, and 800+ attendees that come together to discuss the latest trends in the district heating realm. Their motto and goal this year is "Sharing Solutions, Sustaining Our Future".
These are two exciting and valuable events that we have come to know very well, and we exhibit at these shows every year. Be sure to visit the Nationwide Boiler table if you will be in attendance at either show; #44 at WRBA and #19 at IDEA. We hope to see you there!
Nationwide Environmental Solutions, a strategic business unit of Nationwide Boiler Inc., has extensive experience in SCR technology with over 100 installations across the country. We started out as a user on our rental boiler fleet, mastered the design and operation of the system, and began selling the superior product to our customers. We can now provide SCR systems for NOx reduction to as low as 2½ ppm for boilers, fired heaters, gas turbines, and other demanding applications.
Users in a diverse set of applications are experiencing changes in emissions regulations, driven by federal, tribal, and state implementation plans. With more stringent NOx control limits, utility and industrial industries are facing many challenges in achieving compliance. Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology has been emerging as a clear preference with new plant construction and retrofits to existing plants, and we want to help guide you to make smart decisions for your SCR design.
Join us on March 28th at 11AM EST for a live webinar, hosted by Director of Environmental Solutions, Sean McMenamin. Sean will discuss key considerations for your SCR design, including:
- An overview of current and future anticipated NOx emissions regulations
- Understanding NOx reduction control strategies and comparison of control technologies
- Understanding "next generation" SCR design and performance expectations
- NOx technology options utilizing alternative reagents
- Operating conditions and their effects on SCR sizing, design and lifecycle costs
- Various case studies
Register today! This is a webinar your won't want to miss.
