Deacero S.A. de C.V., the second largest steel producer of steel wire worldwide recently purchased a reconditioned 35,000 lb/hr 500 psig design 1992 Nebraska watertube boiler equipped with a Faber low NOx gas/oil burner from Nationwide Boiler. The sale included a Crane deaerator with Carver high pressure feedwater pumps and an energy efficient EconoStak economizer. The boiler and auxiliary equipment will ship to Deacero’s manufacturing plant in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico and will be used to supplement the new power island providing the gas turbine with steam augmentation and NOx control.
Nationwide Boiler’s representative in Tulsa, Gary Bartlett, was working with Deacero’s engineering firm EDG International for almost 9 months, helping them select the right capacity and pressure boiler.
Deacero S.A. de C.V., a private Mexican company owned by the Gutiérrez family in the Monterrey region processes 2.7 million tons of steel a year, and has 14 plants in Mexico, one in the United States, a research and development center in Barcelona, Spain, seven steel scrap yards, 12 distribution centers in Mexico and two in the United States. It employs 6,200. The company produces products for farming and agriculture, residential uses, building and construction and industrial uses. Deacero has been exporting its products to North America, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Europe for over 25 years.
