Fremont, CA, May 23, 2018
Nationwide Boiler Inc., the largest rental boiler supplier west of the Mississippi, raised over fifty-one thousand dollars following their 38th annual charity golf tournament. Proceeds will be split equally between the American Boiler Manufacturer’s Association (ABMA) Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund and Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area.
The two-day event included a practice round at Spyglass Hill golf course and tournament play at the renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links. Fifty-two golfers competed for first place in their handicap or callaway divisions and for the overall low gross score, announced at the awards banquet with roughly one-hundred guests in attendance. Funds were raised through a raffle, mulligan and hole sponsor sales, live and silent auction sales, and cash donations. Next year’s event is scheduled for May 8-9, 2019 and will coincide with Pebble Beach’s Centennial Anniversary and the return of the US Open Championship in June.
The ABMA’s Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund was created for the promotion of careers in boiler engineering and fabrication. The fund supports post-secondary education and/or training of graduating high school students through educational and technical skills scholarships. Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area was founded in 1984 as a non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions. They serve seventeen counties and are one of the largest chapters nationwide.
